ROLLER DANCE WORKSHOPS WITH KOZMIC!

A bit about Chloe “Kozmic” Seyres from Montreal

Chloe Seyres better know as Kozmic is blowing out her 21st candle of skate love this year! Skating has been her longest passion in life. A former high-level athlete, she is now a movement artist and skating coach

After a few years of ramp skating, the rolling bug really hit when Kozmic first discovered inline Freestyle Slalom. For 10 years she travelled the world for slalom competitions and demos, met amazing people, gained valuable experience and won four world titles along the way!

Kozmic’s favorite training spot is the Invalides in Paris. She also became an international slalom judge and coached freestyle in parallel. For a few years she was even a skating reporter, writing reviews of events she attended for skating news websites!

After a decade in the world of slalom, Kozmic felt she needed to shake things up and switch from inlines to quads for a new sensation. That is where she fell in love with Roller Derby when it was in its infancy in France. The combination of team spirit, contact and performance offered her a new way of looking at skating. She jammed for various teams in Paris, Berlin, Bordeaux and Montreal, as well as for Team France. Additionally, she coached agility classes and workshops for the next six years before going back to her first love of freestyling and roller dancing – but this time on quads.

Kozmic loves exploring moves, links and flow, creating combos, geeking out on technique, enjoying the music, sharing tricks and ideas and feeling the asphalt scratching under her wheels.

When she’s not skating, she translates youth literature and graphic novels, with lots of monsters, unicorns, vampires and haunted houses….and she had the honor of translating Victoria Jamieson’s Rollergirl, and signed it with her derby name, Kozmic Bruise (from Janis Joplin’s Kozmic Blues). But you can call her Kozmic or Koz! Say hi to her on Instagram @kozmicskater
