April 22 Workshop: Learn to Rhythm Dance Skate 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Learn to Rhythm Dance Skate
(you do not need a partner to attend this workshop)
This two-hour workshop is designed for the intermediate to advanced skater who wants to learn to rhythm dance skate while skating in either singles, couples, pairs, trios and trains to the beat of the music. You will learn dance skating movements for self-expression and music interpretation.
The workshop will emphasize couples (opposite sex), pairs (same sex), trios (3 skaters of any sex), and trains (4 or more skaters). Skaters will also learn rhythmic roller skate dance routines from the steps and movements learned.
SPECIAL NOTE: There will be an additional hour after the workshop that skaters can practice socially what they’ve learned.
To take this class you will need intermediate to advanced roller skate skills. If you are new to rhythm skate you can take this class. Howard will be breaking out groups according to levels. Everyone welcome.
April 24 Workshop: Freestyle Rexing 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Freestyle Rexing
(you do not need a partner to attend this workshop)
Rexing is backwards skating with style that started in California in the 1950’s. The rhythmic form of freestyle “Rexing” is a style of skating done either in singles, couples or trios. Freestyle rexing entails skaters doing the basic rexing technique while forming an hour-glass figure which is the basics of rexing technique.
In this workshop you will learn the basics of freestyle rexing and then building on the basics over the course of 2 hours. There will be a third hour at the end of the workshops you can continue to practice what you’ve been learning socially.
SPECIAL NOTE: There will be an additional hour after the workshop that skaters can practice socially what they’ve learned.
To take this class you will strong backwards skating skills.
